Omani has been bringing deeply hypnotic grooves and satisfying positive reggae vibes throughout the central coast areas of northern California for years, from the Salinas Valley into the Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz and up around the San Francisco Bay Area. Expect to hear anything from inspirational roots sounds, to lover’s rock, mixed with conscious thought provoking anthems, and sprinkled with a healthy dose of live dub.

Featuring trademark songs that make you think, make you wanna move, and make you feel good, such as Positivity, Never Give Up, Right To Know, All Of Your Lovin, Humankind, and Keep On Trying.

Since 2007, Omani has been developing and growing and delivering a sincere sound with uplifting reggae music at clubs, festivals, and private events. Performing mostly original songs, as well as spontaneous improvisational dub jams, yet occasionally some shows also call for a tasty selection of cover songs by Dennis Brown, Tenor Saw, Black Uhuru, Johnny Osbourne, Big Mountain, Barrington Levy, and Bob Marley, and other nice features such as reggae versions of classic rock, soul R&B, and modern pop tunes.

Omani has shared the stage with many renown artists such as Sly and Robbie and the Taxi Gang, Don Carlos, Katchafire, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Yellowman, Wadi Gad, The Itals, Romain Virgo, Bitty Mclean, Edi Fitzroy, Big Mountain, Prince Alla, Perfect Giddimani, Lutan Fyah, Ikronik, and bay area reggae acts such as Pure Roots, One A Chord, and Militia Of Love, and Rasun and the Struggle, and has also performed at events with artists like Kymani Marley, Israel Vibration, Prezident Brown, and many more.

You can catch Omani as a solo acoustic performer, or solo with looper and electric self accompaniment, or as an acoustic duo combined with various talented musicians such as Russ Vazquez (Omani and Russ), or as an acoustic trio, or even sometimes as a three piece electric band, or as the full standard core four piece band (drums, bass, guitar, keys). Occasionally with percussionists or horn players or other singers and players of instruments. Omani is the songwriting and recording project of singer and guitarist Phil "Omani" Cumiskey.

Previously there were plans to expand into the Caribbean and into the Pacific islands with the thriving Hawaiian reggae scene, while continuing to build the current fan base and develop further exposure throughout Northern and Southern California (NorCal and SoCal) around the bay area and peninsula in places like San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Marin, and in the south bay Silicon Valley and San Jose area, and the regions adjoining the Monterey Peninsula and greater Central Coast areas from Santa Cruz and Monterey and Big Sur and down to San Luis Obispo and Santa Barabara and further down to Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as the Salinas Valley areas, and further inland in places like Sacramento and the San Joaquin and Central Valleys.

But for now I am just playing it by ear and see where Omani ends up next on this musical journey.

See the booking page and contact form to hire Omani if you need a reggae band or solo performer in the Salinas Valley and Monterey Bay Area, including Santa Cruz and San Jose and San Francisco Bay Area.
